50 Shades Of Red

nagellack catrice rot

roter nagellack catrice

Every girl owns probably around 50 red nail polishes. And no, they don't look all the same. These 50 red nail polishes have completely different shades and look differently on. And no, we won't stop buying any more red polishes. At least I won't and this is the result of my last visit at my local drugstore. After deciding to go out on the weekend I needed something new, so I decided to buy the Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer "17 Caught On The Red Carpet". It's a dark red nail polish which covers up perfectly after the first coat. What I really like about this nail polish is the big brush, because it's super easy to paint your whole nail with just two strokes and I just find it is easier to control. The drying time is okay - not super fast, but I always rather wait too long than too short. I just watch a bit of YouTube and my patience span always extends to the max (#lifehack).
As you can tell by looking at the photos, the colour looks quite bright. I recognized though, that after waiting for like three or four hours after drying it became really dark. I was a bit confused about this, but I kinda liked this effect (does anyone the reason for this??) and it looked really nice with my black dress and a dark lip as well!

Skin Talk: How To Get Clear And Glowy Skin

garnier Produkte

Having photoshopped looking skin seems to be one of the most hyped beauty ideals. But who doesn't want to be admired for glowy skin? You can prevent breakouts and those really annoying spots by following some rules. Here are my top tips, make your future self proud!

Get Naked

And by that I mean taking the make-up off before going to bed, silly! You probably heard about this before and it is one of the most important things for having nice skin. Make-Up tends to clog your pores that's why germs can spread more easily. Not only make-up but also the dirty air (because of traffic fumes) can cause blocked pores and as a result of this your skin breaks out.
Take time in the evening to take care for your skin by using a cleanser, a peeling once a week and a moisturizer.

Less Is More

I love make-up and trying out new products. But after years of using it, I feel like less really is more and this also applies for skin care. I don't believe in using six products at once with twenty different ingredients you can't even pronounce. I remove my make-up using the Garnier Micellar Water and a gentle cleanser. Once a week I go in with an exfoliator (I love the Huygens Exfoliating Cream!) to get rid of the dead skin cells and finish off with my Garnier Daily Light Moisturiser. And that's basically it. It's easy, fast and my skin seems to like the products.

Clean Your Brushes

In order to stay away from germs which make our skin break out, we have to work with clean, hygienic products. I always clean mine on Fridays/Saturday morning so they are dry for the evening if I go out. There are so many ways of cleaning them. I usually use a cleansing spray and get rid of the leftover make-up (and other dirt) in the bristles by using a face tissue.

Eat Your Veggies

You are what you eat. Eating clean and healthy food leads to beautiful skin, so swap the pizza for a yummy quinoa salad with avocado and nuts. Unfortunately you can tell when I had a bit too much of chocolate the other day by just looking at my face. I try to cut down on processed food because my skin breaks out really easily. I still love pizza, fries and chocolate - but in the end it's all about a good balance!

Drink Enough Water

The best way to achieve and maintain glowy skin is to drink loads of water. It helps our body to flush out toxins, to maintain our body temperature and is actually really good for our digestion. By drinking 2 - 3 liters a day you stay hydrated and hydrated body = hydrated skin = glow skin! If you don't like to drink plain water just use fruits and veggies to infuse it.

"Dahlia Divin" by Givenchy

givenchy parfum

I already raved about this perfume before in my Christmas & Birthay Wishlist 2015 and it's finally mine (thanks to everyone who gave me a gift card haha). I was so obsessed with it after I received a tester and I've worn it every single day since.
It's the perfect fragrance for a night out, it smells fresh and - as its name already implies - just divine, plus it's long lasting as well. It reminds me of pure elegance, a perfect night out with my girl friends or a romantic candle light dinner.
It feels like, the longer you wear the perfume, the more it evolves its notes. It's a soft mix of floral scents paired with a sweet woody note. It's not overpowering at all, as far as you don't apply too much of it.
The flacon (30ml) is tall, relatively thin and rose-gold. It reflects the elegance of the scent itself perfectly and is just so pretty to look at. I definitely can't wait for the next special occasion to wear it.

The Facial Cream I Absolutely Love

body shop vitamin e

vitamin e feuchtigkeitscreme

I like to try out new products, especially when they're just great. Today I want to show you my little helper when it comes to moisturizing my skin during the cold months.
The Body Shop is one of my favourite stores anyway and I can never walk passed without having a little stroll inside. I found the Vitamine E Intense Moisture Cream (£13/18€) around January this year when my skin was dull and screaming for hydration. After a chat with the helpful lady at TBS I decided to try out this cream and I am really happy about it!
The cream is really moist, that's why you don't need to use to much of it. As you can see, I still have half of it left and I use is almost everyday. In my opinion it's great value for money and worth every penny! Say hi to soft and hydrated skin even in winter time.

Summertime Sadness: Barry M. "513 Out Of My Red"

barry m nail polish

red nails

The days are getting shorter and colder. Autumn has finally arrived. It's wet and if I'm not working or at uni, I am spending my time in bed reading. Add a big cup of tea and I am happy!
One thing I miss about summer are sunsets. I always really enjoy watching the sun go down, coloring the sky in pretty red and lilac colours. That's probably why I have a new favourite nail paint, which I randomly found in one of my boxes. Barry M.s "Sunset Daylight Curing" nail paint in "513 Out Of Red" is a beautiful deep red, which will definitely make you feel nostalgic about summer!
As usual the polish is super easy to apply, thanks to the brush! It has the perfect size, so you have great control and mistakes are rather an exception than the rule.
Another plus point is that you actually save time. Since the nail polish is quite covering and long-lasting, you just need to apply one coat and you're good to go. It even looks nice after four days - seriously!

Take care x

New Additions To My Make-Up Bag

charlotte tilbury Produkte

Before leaving London, I had a spendy moment. Maybe more than just one. I decided to treat myself (again) with a few make up bits and pieces and I am really, really happy with what I bought!
Here is a overview of my new sweet belongings:

urban decay naked 3 palette

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (£38)

I was craving this beauty since it came out. I never really fancied the other two palettes because they seemed a bit boring to me, in fact I already own enough nude eyeshadows. The 12 pinky shades come in a really nice-looking rose gold packaging which seems to be really solid. The palette also contains four primers (Original, Eden, Sin & Anti-Aging) and a double-ended shadow/blending brush. Really convenient is as well the mirror in the palette.
I can't wait to create a lot of different make-up looks for the day and even night (hello, Blackheart).

sleek konturpalette

Sleek Contour Kit (£5,99)

When I was looking for a new foundation I stumbled across the Sleek Contour Kit and after swatching it, I took the medium version home with me. I'm a bit pale at the moment so I probably need to blend it in a bit more, but all in all it works for me quite well!
So far I have only been using bronzer to add a bit of glow to my face. I am quite excited about using a proper contouring shade, however, I definitely need to catch up on some tutorials first!

laura mercier foundation primer

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (£29)

I was so lucky to receive this primer with my Birchbox in August (they had an offer going on!) and I couldn't wait to try it out. The primer itself is a gel which irritated me in the first place, but after applying it, I was impressed how lovely it felt on my skin. Even after putting on foundation it didn't feel too heavy or greasy. Nevertheless it costs about £30, which is a lot for a primer. I'd recommend to first try it out at the till, if possible. Since every skin is different it might feel different on yours.

charlotte tilbury pinsel

Charlotte Tilbury Eye Smudger Brush (£25)

My - rather small - brush collection has a new pal. After trying the Smudger Brush out at the Charlotte Tilbury till in Selfridges, it was literally begging me to come home with me. How was I even supposed to say no?
With it's round shape the brush is perfect to great a deep smokey eye and you are able to really blend your eyeshadow out. Another plus is the beautiful design. I'm such a sucker when it comes to rose gold stuff!

The Foundation Purchase You Won't Regret

rimmel match perfection

It's August now and soon it's time to say goodbye to the summer. I've never been super excited about this hot season, to be honest. I don't like to be covered in sweat right after my morning shower and having mosquito bites all over my body. But well.. who is actually enjoying this part of summer?
As the days are passing by, so is my tan fading little by little. And this brings us to the actual problem: my foundation doesn't match my skin colour anymore (#girlproblems).
So I did the most logical thing: I went to my local drugstore/second home. And a few people (probably 90%) won't understand it, but I needed over an hour to find a foundation I was interested in AND which matched my skin tone. So there I was, hands covered in different foundation shades, happily leaving Boots - of course packed with more than a foundation.

As already said it was a long way but I finally settled for the Rimmel Match Perfect Foundation in 200 soft beige (£6,99). It is a really light foundation, so if you are looking for full coverage that might not be the product for you. I used my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and I was really pleased how easy it was to blend into my skin! The foundation gives your face a really nice and glowy finish, plus it looks really natural and not caky at all.
The first time I wore it on a night out and I was surprised how well the foundation stayed on. Even though we were dancing in this hot club for hours, my cotton pads were almost full of product after taking my make up off.
I already read a few posts of beauty bloggers raving about the Match Perfect Foundation and I am so happy I tried it out. For just 7 quid it's great value for money and I can really recommend it!
If the foundation isn't available in your drugstores, here's the rescue: ASOS!

Speaking of skin and all that jazz: Would you be interested to read about my (rather basic and boring) skincare routine? Furthermore I'd love to hear about your foundation recommendations and shopping fails!

Take care peeps x

Short Hair Don't Care | Hair Routine

girl on sofa

pantene pro v kur

I am obsessed with hair and I always like to read and hear about other peoples hair routines. Due to my recent hair cut I wanted to try new products and just have a look what's out there at the moment.
A few infos beforehand: My hair is a few inches longer than shoulder length and I have fine to normal hair. Besides it's a bit wavy but all in all quite easy to care for and I wash it every two to three days.

I start off my hair routine off by using the Tony&Guy Shampoo. I'm using this shampoo since a few weeks and I really like it. It has a really nice smell, plus it makes my hair feel soft and clean. After shampooing I go in with the Pantene Pro V Conditioner as well. I leave it in for about two minutes before washing it out and putting my hair up in a towel. I wait until my hair is towel dry (it takes about 40 minutes) before brushing it with my beloved Tangle Teezer. Absolutely loving this brush!
In the summer I'm trying to let my hair air dry because we all no: heat is the devil. But other than that I use my Braun Satin Hair 7 blow dryer and my Tangle Teezer to get my hair as straight as possible.
I also use my heat protector (Schwarzkopf got2be Guardian Angel) when styling my hair with the Remington S9500 straightener. I can genuinely recommend it because it's not just reliable in straightening your hair but also creating waves and curls.

Do you have any holy grail hair products I need to try?

Have a lovely day x

Summer On My Nails | Maybelline Super Stay "Sunkissed"

maybelline super stay sun kissed

After spotting this little baby in Boots last week I just couldn't help myself but take it home with me. I'm talking about the Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color in "Sunkissed" which already had it's appearance in my Boots Haul.

I am a big fan of Maybellines Super Stay nail polishes. The brushes are great to apply the colour, because they are so wide and smooth, and you often don't need a second coat. Plus it doesn't chip after a bit of housework!
After applying my base coat I put "Summerkissed" on and I absolutely love this shade. It's a summery peachy pastel colour which goes with almost anything you wear.
I can definitely see myself wearing it the whole summer and not getting tired of it. And if it happens anyhow there are a lot more beautiful and interesting shades waiting for us to be picked up.

Have you ever tried a nail polish of this range? Which one is your favourite?

Take care peeps x

Boots Haul #1

garnier mizellenwasser

maybelline mascara lash sensational

I have to say that I am really proud of myself. I went to Boots, which is literally P-A-R-A-D-I-S-E to me, and I didn't go crazy! Reason for that was probably the lack of time buuuut that's ok!

The first thing I bought is the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo (£7.99). Before heading to Boots I did a bit of research because since I cut my long hair short I wanted to try something new. It has quite good reviews but some people say that it dried their hair out that's why I didn't get the matching conditioner. I can't wait to try it out though. Who knows? Maybe I'll get my long hair sooner back than I thought?

I also picked up my holy grail. The Batiste Dry Shampoo (£3.99)! I always use the one for Medium & Brunette and although you get dirty hands when touching your hair after using it, I don't really mind because I love it so much. It makes your hair presentable again, you get a bit of volume and it doesn't stink - all in all a total life saver!
Since I used up my Garnier Micellar Water (£3.33) it was time to stock up on this one as well.

And then.. well then I went to the Make-Up section and found myself trying out a lot of stuff I didn't really need. In the end I decided to buy the Maybelline Super Stay Nailpolish in "Sunkissed"(£4.49), Maybelline Dr Rescue Nail Care CC Base Coat (£2.99) and the Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara (£7.99).

To be honest I caught sight of a few more things that looked really interesting, so stay tuned for another Drugstore Haul really soon!

Have a great Sun-Day! x
